Prompt and skill guidance

Give AI clients clear instructions to use Prism as the source-backed research system of record.

The public Skills Library offers focused SKILL.md packages for Prism workflows. Add the same guidance to ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, or another client that accepts custom instructions. The signed-in setup guide also includes the complete Prism MCP foundation skill.

Workflow

Primary steps

  1. 1Tell the AI client to search Prism before answering research questions.
  2. 2Ask it to cite Prism resources and separate evidence from interpretation.
  3. 3Tell it to validate artifacts and respect MCP write boundaries.

Core instruction

Use Prism MCP when the user asks about their research, Project files, thesis work, article drafts, artifacts, email inputs, watchlists, calendar, or source-backed writing. This guidance can be pasted into ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, or Grok as client instructions; direct MCP access still depends on that client's current MCP support and authorization.

Have the agent call get_prism_workspace_context first, verify host capabilities when action exposure may be stale, retrieve exact Prism evidence before answering, and save only durable outputs the user asked to keep.

Prefer Prism context over memory. If Prism has no relevant source, say so plainly before using general reasoning.

Output discipline

Name the Prism resources used, keep citations tied to retrieved source material, and mark any unsourced interpretation as interpretation. Do not cite a context pack, model, memory, or observation as if it were source evidence.

For a requested change, state whether the agent only prepared a preview or committed it, name the affected Project resources, and preserve any user-review or irreversible-action boundary.
